Provost Budget Allocation Committee

Provost Budget Allocation Committee

After the Budget Allocation Model Committee received its September 19, 2006 charge from the Provost, the committee began meeting on October 2, 2006 and continued to meet almost weekly through April 2007.

The committee’s initial efforts focused on articulating a set of guiding principles and assumptions to which the budget model ultimately adopted and implemented at UF should conform. On November 19, 2006, the committee released a first draft of a set of guiding principles and assumptions, titled “Principles for the University of Florida Budget Allocation Model” (Draft 1.4, Nov. 19, 2006), and solicited feedback from the university community. click here to view.

The committee then turned its attention to understanding how resource allocation occurs presently on the campus, developing an understanding of the substance of alternative budget models, and articulating a proposed budget model for UF.

This led to the committee’s completion of a draft (Version 2.4, May 1, 2007) of its “Report of the Budget Model Allocation Committee.” This report is now being put before the UF community for comments and suggestions. click here to view

The committee invites your suggestions and comments.
