Q: What is SERU?
A: SERU is the Student Experience in the Research University survey for undergraduate students. It was administered in 2009 and 2011 and is being administered again in 2013.
Q: When can I take the survey?
A: The survey is available for students to take Wednesday, March 13, 2013.
Q: How do I take the survey?
A: After March 13, go to the ONE.UF Web page (one.uf.edu/soc) and follow the SERU link in the Special Announcements section.
Q: Who is eligible to take the SERU survey?
A: All undergraduate students 18 years old or older as of March 13, 2013. Unless you are:
- An incoming freshman (unless you are in the UF Innovation Academy)
- A part-time student
- A correspondence students
- A graduate student
Q: Does every UF student have to take the survey?
A: Participation in the survey is voluntary and will not affect your grades, registration or enrollment in any way. If you wish to be eligible to participate in the student football ticket lottery, you must complete the survey.
Q: I am a graduate student. Can I take the SERU survey?
A: Graduate students cannot participate in the SERU survey.
Q: I am a graduating senior. Can I take the survey even though I am graduating?
A: Yes, you may take the SERU survey as a graduating senior. You may take the survey even after you have graduated.
Q: I just received my admissions acceptance to UF and will be starting as a freshman in summer 2013. Can I take the survey? Am I still eligible for the football lottery without taking the survey?
A: Incoming Freshman students are not eligible to take the SERU survey. This will not affect your eligibility for the football lottery in any way.
Q: How long does it take to complete the survey?
A: Approximately 20 minutes.
Q: What happens if I run out of time and don’t get to complete the survey in one sitting?
A: You can close out the survey without submitting it. Hitting the “Back” or “Next” button saves that section of the survey. When you sign back in to the survey again, you can finish what you did not complete. Your survey results are not final until you hit the submit button.
Q: I just completed the survey. Will I continue to get e-mail reminders about the survey?
A: No. Once you complete the survey, you are removed from the e-mail reminder list.
Q: How do I find out if I won an incentive prize?
A: You will receive an e-mail notifying you if you won an incentive prize. You will be given instructions on picking up your prize. You will have two weeks to pick up your prize after being notified.
Q: I keep receiving e-mails about the survey. How can I stop receiving them?
A: To stop receiving the e-mails, follow the opt-out instructions at the bottom of the e-mail.
