Closure of academic programs
Board of Governors Regulation 6C-8.012 notes several reasons for program terminations, including but not limited to insufficient enrollment or student interest, duplicate programs, misalignment with mission or strategic plan, or changes in the discipline. Program terminations require the approval of the department, college, University Curriculum Committee or Graduate Council, Faculty Senate, Provost's Office, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Board of Trustees and, for doctoral and professional degrees, the Board of Governors.
