Administrative Areas of the Provost's Office

Various administrative units on campus report directly to the Provost's Office.  Ths is in addition to the academic units noted under Duties and Responsibilites of the Provost.

  • Division of Enrollment Management
    • Admissions
      The Office of Admissions Web site provides information and assistance for prospective, applying and admitted students.
    • Registrar's Office
      The Office of the University Registrar supports the academic and research missions of the university and serves as a central administrative office for students, faculty and alumni. We provide data to internal and external constituencies, enabling these offices to make informed enrollment management and policy decisions. This office ensures adherence to academic policy, preserving academic integrity and safeguarding academic records.
    • Student Financial Affairs
      The Office for Student Financial Affairs (SFA) is the financial aid office at the University of Florida.  SFA is a service organization with the primary responsibility of helping students secure the necessary funding to pursue their educational goals at the University of Florida.
  • Graduate School
    The Graduate School is responsible for the coordination of the graduate programs of the various colleges and the divisions of the university.
  • Honors
    The Honors Program offers opportunities for students to enroll in small, challenging classes with the best faculty at the university. The Honors Program sponsors study abroad programs and Honors students also benefit from undergraduate research opportunities and unique internship programs.
  • Institutional Planning and Research
    The Office of Institutional Planning and Research is responsible for providing the university management with information that supports institutional planning, policy formation and decision making; for coordinating responses to inquiries for university-related information and serving as a comprehensive source for information about the institution; and for administering the Board of Governors data collection/reporting system on campus.
  • Ombuds
    The purpose of the Office of the Ombuds is to assist students in resolving problems and conflicts that arise in the course of interacting with the institution. By considering problems in an unbiased way, the Ombuds works to achieve a fair resolution and works to protect the rights of all parties involved.
  • Undergraduate Affairs
    The Office of Undergraduate Affairs strives to create a campus that will provide a transformative and model undergraduate experience through an effective and genuine balance between liberal education and professional preparation.
  • Teaching and Technology
    • Distance Learning
      The University of Florida offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees, certificates and certification training and courses via distance learning.
    • Information Technology
      The primary responsibilities of AP-IT are full IT support for the Office of Academic Affairs and the Associate Provost for Teaching and Technology; leadership/coordinating functions for E&G IT; and desktop and network support for units within Undergraduate Affairs and other University units at the discretion of the Provost.
