PARTIAL RELIEF FROM FACULTY DUTIES FOR FAMILY CARE AND PERSONAL DISABILITY WITHOUT LOSS OF PAY
- UF has special funds to hire temporary replacement teaching faculty/adjuncts for positions held by faculty members who have full or partial relief from their teaching duties. The funds are derived from the salary not used for the faculty member on leave. The funds are used to hire an adjunct faculty or a Grad Assistant to fill the vacancy temporarily.
- When there are no special funds available for others to assume their duties, other means are used to cover for faculty who have full or partial relief from their teaching duties since the college or department typically hires an adjunct faculty or a Grad Assistant to fill in their role.
- Faculty who receive teaching relief are not expected to make up their time either before or after the period of modified duties.
- There are no written policies regarding the workload for faculty working pursuant to modified duties.
