“The Art of Teaching: Using Acting Techniques in the Teaching/Learning Process

The program is offered twice. You are welcome to attend either:
- 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (registration check-in at 8:00 a.m., program begins at 8:30 a.m.)
- 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (registration check-in at 1:00 p.m., program begins at 2:00 p.m.)
To be held in the Grand Ballroom, Salons A & B, Reitz Union, Museum Road. Registration is required and will be available later this summer.
You can enhance your teaching effectiveness, not by acting but by identifying your own strengths and weaknesses and using acting techniques to improve your current classroom performance.
Some of the topics covered include:
- using your classroom as a stage and doing it effectively
- improving non-verbal communication and using your body effectively
- developing your voice, including projection, articulation, diction, inflection, tone, and placement, to increase vocal energy
- eliminating stage fright or nervousness
