Professor R. Elaine Turner is the author of two major text books:  Nutrition (Jones and Bartlett) with P. Insel and D. Ross and Discovering Nutrition (Jones and Bartlett) with P. Insel and D. Ross.  Nutrition is in the third edition; the first two editions sold more than 40,000 copies.  Discovering Nutrition is in the second edition with total sales of more than 25,000 copies.  These two texts are probably the most widely used college-level nutrition texts in the nation.  In addition, Turner received the USDA Excellence in College and University Teaching Award in 2004.
