During the last five years, ProfessorDolores Albarracin has served as principal investigator on 11 federal awards totaling $3.4 million. Her work focuses on cognitive and motivational processes that underlie some problems in the psychology of attitude change, and in their implication for HIV/AIDS prevention. She has received two federally funded career scientist awards back-to-back (2001, 2002). These awards are among the most competitive and prestigious sources of extramural support of the scientific elite. Albarracin has two books in press and has published Handbook of Attitudes (which has received enthusiastic reviews) and 50 articles in some of the premier venues in psychology. Her two chapters in Advances in Experimental Social Psychology and her six articles in Psychological Bulletin have placed her in the highest elite tier of social psychologists worldwide.
