Professor Barton Weitz is recognized for publishing four textbooks and 78 refereed articles. He was also the editor of Journal of Marketing Research (1991-94) and co-editor of the “Ten Most Influential Articles of the 20th Century” as selected by the American Marketing Association Sale Force Management Group (1982, 1986). In addition, Weitz has received several awards for outstanding articles, including the Paul Root Award (1997) and the Lewis Stern Award (2000, 2005), and others. To crown his achievements, Weitz received the AMA/Irwin Distinguished Educator Award and the AMA/Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003. He also has served his profession as chair of the AMA (2002).
